Fidelity Helps Girls Get Back to School

SHARE

Girls Inc. of  New Hampshire gears up for back to school with the help of Fidelity Investments.

Fidelity has generously provided Girls Inc. NH with a grant to help purchase a new school bus. The bus will be used to transport girls from schools to corresponding centers for after-school programming and field trips replacing a rusted, retired bus with needed repairs exceeding the value of the vehicle. “This new bus is, by far, the best in the fleet,” says long-time bus driver Ed Norton.

Fidelity’s WITSIG (Women in Technology Special Interest Group) has also contributed funds towards Girls Inc. NH STEM programming.  The organization will be using the funds to purchase 3D printers, scientific calculators, and robots for both the Nashua and Manchester centers allowing girls additional resources with STEM programs.

Fidelity’s Community Relations Manager, Jackie Hodgson, says “Fidelity partners with nonprofits and the community to understand their greatest needs and consider how we can support efforts to close the racial wealth gap through education, financial literacy, and other programming. Girls Inc. makes an incredible impact on the NH community, so when Sharron shared with me that their bus broke down and there was a need for STEM support, it was clear that Fidelity could jump right in to help.”
