The Young Women’s Leadership summer camp, held on the Saint Anselm’s College campus, engages young women in activities which will help them develop leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills. The goal is to help teens stay focused on graduating from high school, getting into a college or career path of their choice, and to envision themselves as future community leaders.

“What a privilege for our girls to see how a variety of NH businesses run and to get tips on various career paths.  The companies we toured over the summer went out. of their way to offer career exploration and insight.  We are just thrilled with this year’s program.” Sharron McCarthy, CEO.

Girls in this summer program got to experience and learn about different career paths through local field trips and speakers. These field trips, which included AutoFair, Cirtronics, Anheuser-Busch, Three Chimney’s Inn and others, allowed the girls to get a tour of the facilities while seeing the day-to-day activities in that specific career. Throughout the entire program, guest speakers came in and talked about career development with demonstrations and workshops allowing the girls to get involved. Speakers included John Broderick speaking about mental health, Chef Megan from Cactus Jack’s and even a visit from Karen Borgstrom who brought her therapy dog Kooper. The program wrapped up with a career fair and mock interviews, where the girls’ learned tips and ideas for job searches.
