Nashua, NH (August 5, 2019) – Girls Inc. of New Hampshire hosted its first Granite State Golf Challenge on July 29, 2019 at the Nashua Country Club. Thirty teams of four and more than 30 sponsors took to the greens, raising $46,000 for Girls Inc’s summer camp and athletic programs.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part in this new and fun event,” said Cathy Duffy-Cullity, Chief Executive Officer, Girls Inc. of New Hampshire. “Each person, from sponsors to golfers, had a significant role in making this first tournament a success and ultimately helping to improve the lives of young girls in New Hampshire.”
Girls Inc. high-school participants volunteered at the event by helping with parking, giving out t-shirts and bags at registration, and distributing water to thirsty golfers on the course. These tasks gave the girls an opportunity to use skills they acquired through their participation in Girls Inc’s leadership program.
