Girls Inc. of New Hampshire hosted their annual Fuel Her Fire auction as a live event on Thursday April 14, 2022, at the historic Rex Theatre located in downtown Manchester. The auction was an overwhelming success and raised over $200,000 for the organization.
The evening was filled with smiling faces and eager conversation. The mood was light, and generosity prevailed. Auction attendees were treated to delicious food from Tidewater Catering and live jazz music by Tim Sink and friends. The Auction kicked off with moving remarks from Girls Inc. CEO Sharron McCarthy and Dartmouth Hitchcock’s Maria Padin, MD. The attendees were also treated to two heartwarming speeches from two Girls of the Year, Jaihliani Ortiz and Natalia McLaughlin Ray. Both spoke of the benefits of being part of the organization and how it has helped shaped them into successful and confident young women.
Auctioneer, former Board Member and friend of Girls Inc., Mark Fodero kicked off the live auction with items such as trips to Myrtle Beach and Grand Cayman Island, an Outdoor Adventure package, and Kawasaki Youth Quad. The Auction also had an online portion and silent items available to live and remote bidders.
“It was the perfect recipe for a fun night out while feeling good about contributing to the success of an organization working hard to make a positive difference in the lives of girls and young women,” said CEO, Sharron McCarthy.
The funds raised from the event will provide scholarships for local New Hampshire girls to attend full day Girls Inc NH summer camp and after-school programs.
